54. Go to bed by 10pm every night for 2 weeks

Jared and I TRIED to start this last week.

It lasted about 2 nights.

Both of those nights I laid in bed staring at the ceiling until midnight.

Go figure.

I guess we will have to give it another go another week.

4. Read 5 books from the Time's list of 100 greatest novels

image

Book 1 read! 4 more to go.

Interesting read.

It actually taught me a lot about prayer in a round about sort of way.

Talked a lot about “maturing” if you know what I mean. Which I thought was hilarious at this point in my life. I probably wouldn’t have found it that funny when I was young.

Would I recommend it to my 6th grade child? Probably not.

Would I have read it to my 6th grade class out loud? Absolutely not.

Still, I enjoyed it. :)

69. Eat at a new restaurant

My husband took a hint when I posted about eating at Communal.

This last Friday he told me he was taking me on a date.

I said, where you taking me?

He said, Communal.

YEAH!

Oh wait, we didn’t end up going.

He called to make reservations and they were already booked for the night.

BOO!

He took me out anyway.

Pizzeria 712 had an open reservation.

We will try again another weekend to make my goal happen.

(Horrible picture, I know)

Today was book babies at the Provo Library and it was awesome.

Totally impressed.

Highly recommended.

Goal complete.

We will be going again.

69. Eat at a new restaurant

image

As I was driving today I passed the restaurant, Pizzeria 712. Jared and I have been there once and really liked it. We tried going another time, but it was too long of a wait for little Lukey. (By the way Pizzeria 712, you need to move to a bigger location). Anyway, passing by I started thinking that Jared and I should go try Communal. It is a new restaurant in Provo and I have heard good things about it. Pizzeria 712 and Communal are owned by the same people (I think, correct me if I am wrong). That’s how I ended up thinking about going to Communal as I drove by Pizzeria 712. Has anyone ever tried Communal? What’s your review? Maybe sometime in the near future I can give my review.

64. Take Luke to story time at the Library

This morning Luke’s schedule fell right in line with making it to story time, so I finally was able to take him. I went to the Orem library for lap time. Luke loved the songs, but to be honest I wasn’t real impressed. The stories were way too long for babies & toddlers and she didn’t even hold up the book so they could see the pictures. I thought they would focus more on rhyming  & interactive books, but it was just really long stories. When we did sing songs we would only sing them once. Don’t children learn by repetition? I know Luke recognizes the songs I sing over and over. Maybe I am just overly critical because I have a degree in this.

Anyway, even though this goal is complete I am going to leave it open until I go to Provo library for their book babies program. Hopefully that will be more up Luke’s (my) alley. I did bring my camera to take pictures, but I forgot to actually take them. I will do it at Provo’s session.

While I was at the library I finally checked out one of my books from the New York’s Best Seller’s List. I will give you my review when I am done. I also checked out the video “Signing Time” for Luke. He is still a little young to start signing, but he loves the songs. Never hurts to start early!

79. Make homemade thank you, birthday & shower cards to have on hand

IMG_1427

Complete! I was very busy this weekend making cards to have on hand. It worked out perfectly that I could sit and watch conference while making cards. I have changed over to digital scrapbooking so I am glad I am putting my supplies to good use. Hopefully I made enough to last me a year!

80. Memorize my license plate & bank account numbers

image

Complete! I wish my license plate was as easy to memorize as the one above! This goal isn’t a hard one, but it is one I have been wanting to do for awhile. I have always had these numbers memorized, but in the last few years I have changed them so many times I lost track.  I finally have them down! No more pulling out my checkbook to look up my bank account numbers. Yipee!

14. Bear my testimony 4 times in one year

Today was fast and testimony meeting. We had 2 baby blessings today and it was a packed house, needless to say I just couldn’t bring myself to get up in front of all those people.

I don’t know why this frightens me so much. I would much rather give a talk any day. At least I have it written down (word for word) what I am going to say. I would never find myself drawing a blank if giving a talk.

However, in Relief Society we leave a little bit of time after the lesson is over to bear our testimonies if we didn’t get a chance to in Sacrament….and I did it! I actually got out of my seat and spoke without knowing what I was really going to say.  I bore testimony of the importance of Relief Society and the importance of knowing we are daughters of God. There has been a couple things happen recently to strengthen my testimony of both these things.

So do you think this should count as one of my “4 times”?

Maybe next time it will be in Sacrament meeting…
