44. Invite friends over for a night of fondue

No, we didn’t invite friends over for fondue, but I did make it.

Just need to make sure it is good before inviting anyone over, right?

Next time I will make a chocolate fondue also.

Let me know if you want an invite.

31. Hike the Y

In preparation for the “big hike”, Jared and I hiked the “G” this last Saturday.

To be quite honest, it was a little steep and gave me a pretty good work out.

It made me realize I am in terrible shape.

25. Go to a concert of an artist/band I've never seen

image

We had tickets to go to the U2 concert tomorrow night.

It was postponed until next year because of Bono having emergency back surgery.

Suck it up Bono for the sake of my goal!

Ok, not really.

It is a bummer though. I was super excited to go.

We do have tickets to 4 more concerts throughout the summer, 3 of which are artists I have never seen, so I am sure I will complete my goal.

You are off the hook, Bono.

4. Read 5 books from the Time's list of 100 greatest novels

image

I decided to read this book as my second book for this goal. I read about 2 pages and just knew this was not my cup of tea. I don’t like to think too hard when I am reading, always trying to figure out what they are talking about, no thanks. I returned it to the library and will be on a search for a book that is more up my alley. Wish me luck!

69. Eat at a new restaurant

image

No, we didn’t make it to Communal. We didn’t plan ahead again.

We were in the mood for Thai food so we decided to try a new Thai restaurant instead of waiting for us to get our act together to make reservations at Communal.

We settled on a place in Orem called Thai Drift.

Here are my ratings:

Atmosphere: Nice inside, modern, very clean, a little chilly, but overall very good.

Food:  Beef & broccoli had really good flavor just didn’t get very much of it;  Shrimp Pad Thai had a good flavor, but the noodles were too chewy; the Massaman Curry was divine.

We also got fried bananas with ice cream for dessert and I thought it was pretty good. It was exactly that, fried bananas with ice cream.

Service: VERY slow (maybe it just seemed extra slow because I was extra hungry), however it is a family run business so I don’t think they have a lot of help. All of the workers were extremely nice. It seemed like they had a lot of regulars that they cater to.

Price: Very reasonable for dinner. Most entrees were under $10.

Overall: I would definitely go there again, but probably for lunch or take out. The food was very good, and in my opinion you can’t go wrong with Thai food.

43. Make Luke a 72 hour kit

IMG_1607

Done! Baby 72 hour kits are so hard. They are constantly changing. They change what they eat, drink, what size diapers and clothes they wear. I sure hope I have everything. It does make me feel a little better knowing we have a kit for him with things that would hopefully get us through know matter what stage he is in. Plus Jared and I both have a 72 hour kit and a car kit so hopefully between them all we will be prepared. I just hope we never have to use them!

46. Take Luke to the Zoo

My good friend, Amber, called me the other day and wanted to know if I wanted to go with her and the kiddos to the zoo.

I sure do!

Luke enjoyed people watching more than animal watching, but it still was a fun day to be outside (until it rained). I am sure I will be taking Luke back to the Zoo when he gets a little older, but for now this goal is complete!!

34. Perfect my homemade pizza recipe

IMG_1527

It’s still not quite there yet. This time I figured out the best way to cook the crust. Although, I think next time I will make it a little thinner.

Now I just need to perfect the alfredo sauce. If anyone has a good recipe send it my way. Better yet, get me the Firehouse Pizzeria alfredo sauce recipe and I will forever be indebted.

82. Compile an address book

image

I am constantly asking people for their address because I never write them down and store them in one place. I went through my address book and emails and tried to find all the addresses I would need and entered them in one address book.

Now any new addresses I get I am going to be diligent in entering them into my address book.  Hopefully it will make mailing my Christmas cards a whole lot easier. Cross your fingers I will keep up with it.
