67. Plant a garden (vegetable or flower)

I can’t take any credit for this one, but I am going to anyway.

We (Jared) planted a vegetable garden.

I can’t wait until we have fresh fruit and vegetables in our backyard!

49. Visit a friend that lives out of state

This past weekend I met up with my friend, Jen, who lives in San Diego for a fun vacation.

Read about it here.

48. Start a new family tradition

This past General Conference on Sunday, Jared and I got up and make the most delicious breakfast.

We decided right away it will be a tradition in our family to always make it for General Conference.

We made Breakfast Burritos and Orange Julius.

I got the yummiest recipe from here.

Luke was also in heaven which made us just confirm it even more that it is something we will always do.

I hope the traditions we start will be something that my children always remember and want to carry on with their own families.

8. Read & study the book of Isaiah

I finished my book a couple of weeks ago.

It really helped while I was reading the Isaiah chapters in the Book of Mormon.

However, just last night Jared and I were reading in 2 Nephi and it was where Jacob is quoting Isaiah and I didn’t have a clue what he was talking about.

I think I made need to reference the book every time I read Isaiah.

Although, it was a great book to have as a companion while reading and I highly recommend it.

15. Teach Luke sign language

Luke has picked up quite a few more signs lately.

It really is a great way to communicate with him.

My mom even loves it and helps him learn new signs.

Now that he is talking more it is getting easier to understand him, but sign language has been wonderful to be able to communicate.

Here are the signs he knows:

Bear

94. Make a smoothie for breakfast for a week

IMG_3130edit

I have been doing this quite frequently lately.

I use to make a fruit smoothie all the time back in the day for a snack and I got out of the habit, but now I am back!

I like them for breakfast, but I really like them at night when I am craving a snack.

I use:

Frozen or fresh fruit

V8 Fusion juice

Ice

Yogurt

Whey Protein Powder

It’s quite filling and really yummy too!!

57. Make reading scriptures after mealtime a habit

I had to change this goal.

It just wasn’t working after mealtime.

I thought it would be perfect, but it just wasn’t.

So we went back to reading right before bed and we have been pretty consistent at it even though we can be tired some most nights.

It just works best for us and bedtime is the time it has officially become a habit.

34. Perfect my homemade pizza recipe

I feel like I am finally at peace with my homemade pizza crust.

It definitely cooks a lot better in my new oven.

I have the crust to the perfect thickness.

The last couple of times I have made it I chose Margherita style using fresh tomatoes and spinach from my bountiful basket.

I think it is pretty heavenly.

20. No internet for 1 week

I did it!

I hated every minute of it.

I questioned why I made this goal in the first place.

3 days would have been hard for me, but a week.

A week!

Now that was hard.

20. No internet for 1 week

I am going to attempt this.

I will need a lot of will power.

I have access to the Internet on my phone and it is so tempting.

I will be traveling 5 out of the 7 days.

The airport can get rather boring so I will have to be strong.

Will…not…press…browser….on…my….phone.

See I can do it.
